Yes, it is possible to control PIC thru internet
There two thing must be prepare :
1. Internet Connection Interface, ie PSTN dialup modem; Ethernet Interface or GPRS connection.
2. TCP/IP Stack software that handle the TCP/IP communication over Internet

there a chip from wiznet to connect uc to internet and you can find source code using it on freertos.org
