On a piece of glass that large, typically not.
B/W surplus is about $30 for a 10"
Color is much more depending upon the size of glass.

yeasa, very good, need also lcd display for testing, b/w or colour.
anybody had knowlegle about drivercuircuits for lcd or tft displays.

As far as I know companies only give free samples especially ones that are as expensive as the 640x480 LCD displays to electronics manufacturers. You can check out mourse.com, avnet.com, jameco.com, and digikey.com for pricing information on brand new units. On avnet.com's page you will find a section where you can request all sorts of sampled, some are more expensive then the LCD display you are looking for, however, you will also find that you will have to have an account with them to get the samples. I hope this somewhat helpful.

| try looking for someone with a broken or very old (386) laptop. of course, the lcd is usually the thing that breaks on an old laptop, but i used to have one til i tossed it during spring cleaning
