| PWM changes the duty cycle to adjust the output voltage while PFM keeps the duty cycle but changes the frequency to adjust the output voltage.

PFM normally has higher efficiency @ light load.
PWM normally has higher efficiency @ heavy load.

How to detect load status to switch from PWM to PFM and vice versa?
