Hi every one
I have a quesition about antenna pattern synthesis . If we have the surface current amplitude and phase distribution of an antenna,we can get the far pattern.Put the other way round , how can we obtain the surface current distritution (amplitude and phase )according to the far pattern such as the measure ment results ?Who have good advices or any papers about it ?
Thanks and Regards!

Hi, Caocao:
The solution will not be unique. However, you should be able to optimize it for such a purpose. At least, you can optimize the structure's shape for given pattern parameters. Regards.
best regards,

JIan ,Thanks for you advices
Maybe I can calculate the current distribution from the optimization and the null position. It the best method I think.

Hi, caocao:
Yes. Theoretically, you can optimize for null for the current density distribution. In the implementation, IE3D does allow you to access the current density data on MGRID in current distribution visualization. However, it may not be in the optimization loop unless you want zero current at a specific port. You can optimize for zero current at a specific port indirectly on IE3D. Regards.
