Limiting Amplifiers
When your circuit design requires amplitude compression, it delivers the limiting function. These amplifiers are useful for protecting subsequent components from input overdrive and removing amplitude modulation from FM signals.

| LA is an amplifier that is usually exist in fiber optics receivers , it function to amplify the comming digital signal which is distorted to rail to rail output in order to give a large signal to the other parts of the Rx (usually the CDR)

Limiting amplifiers are useful for protecting circuitry that has a limited input range. A classic example is an input buffer for an A/D converter.

| There are a lot of things to limit the amplifier . You need to give more information such as the question regarding the circuit level or block level.
