metal respin
hi,

if i respin a full chip design from current 8metal layers to 7metal layers....what all things should i take care of ....??

When ur going for a respin of design, with lesser metal layers,

1. u will facing a lot of routing congestion problems.

2. May be Placement may be disturbed for preventing the routing congestion.

3. some times timing also may not be macthing the requirement u have to anticipate for some timing violation.
