it is a diode, a PN-junction connected to the metal to solve the antenna effect.

what is nac in ic layout
NAC diode is Net Area Check Diode, it's a PN junction to avoid antenna effect.

nac diode violations
it should be connected to the gate using 1st metal...
connect n-type diode to the gate of an NMOS transistor and p-type to PMOS.
it should be near the MOS so that the tap/guardband serves as the other terminal of the diode.
