NEC MULTISYNC 17II monitor

i been using this monitor for a very long time, my problem now is whenever i turn
this monitor on it takes more than 5mins for the screen to appear.

any suggestions?What might causing this problem?

When you power down the monitor: Just use the button on the monitor, otherwise the preheaters on the CRT have to "warm-up" the emitters (color cathodes) before the screen shows anything.
