Frequency duplex means that the radio transmitter and receiver operates at different frequencies. The term is frequently used in HAM radio operation, where a HAM operator is attempting to contact a repeater station. The station must be able to send and receive a transmission at the same time, and does so by altering the frequency at which it sends and receives slightly. This mode of operation is referred to as duplex mode or offset mode.

hi..
above concept is right.. its usefulness is that that even in mobile tansciever same antenna is used to transmit and receive. but because, for RX and TX different frequencies are used, therefore they still don't mess-up..
Regards..

in order to decrease the probility of occuring fading for transmitting signal, we have to send it in two seperate channel. transmission of the signal in two seperate time is named time division duplex, TDD transmission of the signal in two seperate frequency is named freq. division duplex FDD, and transmission of the signal in two different direction is named space division duplex, SDD
since the probility of frequency selective fading in two different freq. is independent, the prob. of fading decrease by using FDD

frequency duplex means that two different frequency ranges are at used at the same time
first one is for transmission (uplink)
and the second is for reception (downlink)
