Yes it is. I saw many of its post on vlsi_egypt yahoo group. But I don't know where its location.

i visited the website of Valeo, it seems to be a very big company, however there is no mention at all that they have any location for R&D in cairo.

i was in Bahgat R&D it's in its way to close as i know i leave it from 10 months and i heard that from my friends there so drop it from your mins

We are in SDH project seeking for the HW developer … find below the job description and the required skills.
HW Developer job description
· Transfer the design specification into actual design to be implemented
· Extract information from data sheets and application notes
· Schematic entry for HW designs
· Document the designs according to HW process applied in the department
· Co-operate with PCB team to guarantee best layout and routing to achieve better signal integrity
· Reporting to HW team leader
· FPGA design using VHDL
· Communicate with supplier of components to guarantee the suitable components for applications under supervision from HW team leader and sourcing team leader

may be this is a bit irrelevant, but i was thinking i never knew there is much guys in the field of embedded here in egypt, so i was wondering y don't we all meet in nady elnekaba fe elzamalek..it would be nice we can meet and see what different fields our market is targeting...even not making it a technical meeting just to know each other.

Hi all,
I think it will be a great chance to start a community for Embedded Engineers in Egypt we can share knowledge, experience, tools, projects and best of all to have new friends with same interests. As you all know embedded system is a passion more than it is a profession.
I strongly agree with bassem and i suggest that everyone sends his email address in a PM to bassem (if he doesn't mind) and bassem would start a small newsletter in order to arrange a time and place suitable for most ppl.

I'm an Egyptian Engineer who is currently located in Toronto, Canada; have also been in the embedded field for 10 years working for Intel and other companies. I'm (with my business partners) in the process of starting up a new company (www.baccah.ca) in the field of embedded systems software development. Our customers are hi-tech companies located in USA and Canada and looking to outsource their software projects to our branch in Cairo.
Since the whole new embedded is relatively new, I am looking for qualified developers who have some experience or at least some training in this field field. The skill set we're looking for are:
- Engineering Degree in Electronics, Telecom or Computer Science .
- VxWorks,
- Embedded Linux
- RTOS
- Device Drivers
- CDMA
- GSM / GPRS / EDGE
- VoIP / SIP Protocol
- C/C++/ OOAD
- TCP/IP related protocol and socket programming
- IPSec, SSL, Cryptography programming
- MIPS, PowerPC (PPC), ARM, XScale, FreeScale microprocessors
- MATLab
- Audio/Video Processing (and/or Codec)
- Good technical communication and documentation skills (in English)

· 10+ years of relevant experience

· Minimum 6 years of development/leadership experience
