Hi,
r u doing all ur thing from command prompt or a gui based.....I am familiar with the later one.....what we do there is following....

from layout ...after DRC...LVS....u extract (may be RCX or what ever) the layout......

there is a option of "hierarchy editor"....u have to do it all there........u may find it in the "User Guide" provided by the vendor of tech-file / technology.....generally they say in it...particularly customised for the tool u r using....

if u still need the details of the above can write here...i will send u the doc.....

regarding commandpromt...i am blind....

gd luck

Hi,

Definitely you need a license for Spectre Simulator and usally it is a default simulator and is inbuilt.

At this point I am alittle bit puzzled.....
What i thought like u r asking for "post layout simulation". This is done after the layout is over. So u must have simulated ur circuits/schematics before the layout.

If u have used throught cadence (i.e., for simulation as well as layout)...then u must be having the simulation license for spectre......in that case u will not be facing any problem.....

If ur simulation is other tool (like HSPICE etc.)....then most probably u have to import the netlist from cadence after layout.......netlist is available......but i don't know much about the inter tool communication.....

gd lk..
