Post15 Jul 2006 9:08   Need voltage regulator min o/p current less than 10 uA

hi all

i need a low current voltage regulator

i need one with these spuc. i/p V : 9 - 5 Vdc
o/p V : 1.3 Vdc
Load current about 10 uA (must regulate at such current) (min o/p current less than 10 uA)

indeed i used to use a famous one LM317 but it's min o/p current more than 10 mA !!!! if the current less than that the voltage get rise and no regulation

thx all

Here is a couple of websites which can be a good starting point:

If your power requirements are not too stringent, you can still use the LM317. Just make sure you have a "bleeder" resistor at the output, which can draw the 10mA that the LM317 requires. The output divider will also help typically 5mA (1.25V/240 ohm). That way the load can draw any current, down to 10uA.
Not an elegant solution, but an immediate one.

this idea came ofcourse to my mind , i even said i can put a led to consume such 10 mA but another problem came to me , the o/p voltage is 1.3 & the led need at least 2 volt !!!!!!!!

Why can't you connect a 130Ω resistor as suggested by VVV ?

i don't want to consume 10 mA in nothing in just a resistor !!!!

Then you will have to go for low quiescent current voltage regulators; there is no other altrnative to come close to 10ľA of no-load current ..

HI,

Use a micropower reference as a shunt regulator.
20 ľA for the reference and 10 ľA for the load.

TPS71533, 50-mA, 3.3-V High Input-Voltage LDO Voltage Regulator in SC-70
Low 3.2-ľA Quiescent Current at 50 mA
