Post08 Jul 2006 18:40   broadband match on FR4

i'm trying to design a matching network on a fr4 substrate at 5 ghz with a bandwidth of nearly 1 ghz. the matching network should convert a reflection factor larger than 0.9 to 50 Ohm (or at least to a reflection factor smaller than 0.4) using smd components. although i'm convinced that this is quite impossible due to the large bandwidth and poor rf performance of smd components, i'd be grateful if you could give some advices. thanks in advance.
