first u have to read digital basics

Then start reading neil pucknell and Eshraghian's Basic vlsi design

Principles of CMOS VLSI Design by Weste and Eshraghian,

Micheal John Sebastian smith's ASIC

I think these are the books needed for any starter.

First u hav to choose whether u want to go for Front-end or Back-end..

If u choose Front-End, U have to learn HDL Language, STA & abt synthesis..

If u choose Back-End, U have to revise ur cmos concepts & tool flow....
