First i thought of microchip type transformer less supply but its unsafe.

other method is to use small transformer and switching regulator can tech guru's of this forum provide help regarding the design...... from scratch

Try using one of the LinkSwitch or TinySwitch parts from Power Integrations:
www.powerint.com/

Their PI Expert software can help you design the transformer. Some transformers are available off-the-shelf for some of the PI parts. See this link
www.powerint.com/componentsuppliers.htm

Or, try the ON Semi NCP10xxx switchers
www.onsemi.com/PowerSolutions/supportDoc.do?type=datasheets&category=449

You can also try Fairchild:

see this circuit for generating 5V
http://booksbybibin.14.forumer.com/viewtopic.php?t=30

use LM317 with proper resistance to get 6V
