Hello,
I have designed my board as per V2[1].01 for SIM300.
But I am not getting whetherVext is out put pin or input.
The voltage ranges I am getting on designed board are
Vbat = 4.6V
Vext =3.01 if I attached D202 output on Vext pin considering Vext is input pin.
I am not getting any indication on network status LED connected on pin no-30.
I am not getting what to do please help....

Hi...
The VBAT range for SIM300 is 3.4 ~ 4.5V. It is recommended to supply 4V.
You are pumping 4.6V which is out of the range.
Try to reduce the voltage supply and observe again...

Hi,
I purchased a SIM300 module without considering the connections. The tiny connector which i ordered with it is ment to be connected to a special PCB or something similar.
Can any one explain how i can obtain the serial port and power connections from this module? From where i can get the necessary hardware.
Thank you.

Can it send and receive SMS with 1.5A current supply?

Hi,
I would like to know how to connect my GSM module (SIM300) to my microcotroller (PIC 18F4525) ??. I have to command the GSM module so that it dial a number if an input of the PIC 18F4525 is activated, aslo the SIM300 should be able to activate a relay (in the outputs of the Microcontroller) by AT command ?
thanks in advance.

So how does one get hold of these for cheap? I mean most places ask more than what the module itself is worth

hi selfish
if U see hardware for sim300 (download it from this topic) & use molex simcard holder
U can run correctly sim300
best voltage for vcc of VBAT = 4v & for sim vdd = 2.9v
for checking of work of sim300 use a LED with 1k resistor to GND in vdd_ext pin.
for sim presence connect this pin directly to GND
Added after 3 minutes:
hi huyNX
yes u can use lm117 or lm317 for supply for sim300 but attention first adjust your voltage then connect sim300 because the voltage more than 4.55 is harmfull for it

Looks like he did make his own PCB:
Well now we only need the gurbers so we can get more boards made at a favorite cheap fab house of our choice!
Anyone would like to post the gurber files of this project?
