Hi Marie,

It is tough to get in any of these software until u have access through educational institutes or huge co-orporations.

If you are seeking to learn this on your own, well u can get there manuals but not the software

That's true Marie, and some times you can use Demo Software (usually limited by the number of components, nodes, simulations, etc) for simulations. I used Tanner tools, Hspice and ADS for circuits simulations and L-Edit for layout.

I will attach this demos: Tanner and L-edit if you want to start with layouts(Mos-tranistos, pasive components, etc) Tanne demo is limited to 16 mos transistors.

for system level (PCB level)

Multisum -> inlcude RTL simulation + analog simulator
Pspice (or microsim designCenter ) -> include analog + digital simulator

Orcad -> express only VHDL simulator
SDT : schematic draw
VST : TTL /cmos logic simulator

ASIC level

Tanner -> include sedit : draw circuit create netlist
tspice : simulator
ledit : analog layout

mycad company ->
myspice : spice tool
myPCb
myVHDL

Just now i've looked at this topic, but hope that this information will be interesting for somebody. You can get trial versions of programs for analog design for free from this web-site.

Just try to use it to understand do they suit you or not

Re: Analog circuit design tool

that depends on how complicated is your design. if it is just functional block without too much switching, any pc can do.

Analog circuit design tool

I want design 6bit SarADC. I downloaded the Orcad Pspice 9.1 on the internet. The prob is that there is no Pspice menu at the Orcad Capture when I try to simulate a schematic. I found this help info:
SOLUTION:
The problem lies in the registry. The PSpice plug-ins did not register correctly upon the first installation. Restart your system and reinstall PSpice Release 9.1 over the old installation to correct this problem.

But this is no helpful at all because I did reinstall but same prob. occurred again.

Please tell me what I should do.

Re: Analog circuit design tool

Sexual,
When You started new project (File->New Projcet), did you choose an Analog or Mixed A/D project?
I you didn't do so, the Pspice will not be able to use.
