what is a training sequence in an adaptive equalizer.What determines its sequence??

training sequence is a sequence of bits that the adaptive equalizer receiver then use to adapt its transfer function accoridng to the change in the channel.
this sequence is a sequence known to the equalizer so it can detect the changes happend to it and then try to correct it "adjust T.F."

well as far as i know...the sequence is found by passing a train of unit impulses through the channel...
