Footprint maker for Allegro (ver. 0.08)
Features:
* Over 3000 footprints.
* Easy to use, generate one footprint in few seconds
(include all necessary padstacks/shapes/flashes/devices file).
* If you can't find the match one, add a new one within 1 minute.
* Program is very small (<1MB), but the footprints may be HUGE.
* Multilanguage support.
* IPC-7351A name-convention for most of the SMD footprints.
* Customized footprint(through skill file).
* Many parameters configurable.
* Windows GUI.
* Totally free.
how to use? it's easy! unzip -> install -> run(from desktop or "start"...)

| Hello Sir, this is an excellent work and I really appreciate your effort on develping this software. Also, I have a Question here. I'm planning on adding a battery module on to the board so that I can fix it on the other side. Let me know if you have suggestions of which footprints might be useful. I'm confused at this point. I appreciate your support.

new version (0.06 in plan) support BGA now (about 900 new BGA components), will come out soon.

hi richard,
i appreciate your work. it is really great work,
but i am not able to export the footprint from fpm to allegro.
on selecting the symbol and clicking allegro the allegro tool is showing a null drawing.
i am using allegro 15.0 and fpm 0.07.

Hi, ricky,
because of new skill functions and new features(DFA, board SolderPaste, etc.), this FPM 0.07 need running with allegro 15.5+ (15.5, 15.51, 15.7, etc.)
if you still use allegro 15.0 or 15.2, you have to use the old FPM version like 0.064.
another thing about allegro is you should have the skill license enabled.

on selecting the symbol and clicking allegro the allegro tool is showing a E- Command not found: skill 'load "c:\\FPM\\fpm.il"
i am using allegro 15.7 and fpm 0.0.7.0.
Can you please solve this problem

do you have pre-generated footprins?

hello, buenos:
the "bath generate" function was obsolete due to these reasons below:
if we still use "batch generate":
1. amount of generated files become over 10000, most of them we don't use it at this time( for example: how many kinds of BGA you're using in your daily projects? I guess just few not hundreds  .
2. long time to wait till all symbols generated. (I didn't test it for a quite long time).
3. customized skill file may interrupt the generate process. the user-customized skill file may have some bugs or error, this will case allegro stop generate remaining symbols. I think this is the case you see the error and quit.
sorry I didn't update the description about FPM and didn't disable the "batch generate" function in the program(menu...), I already did some cleaning and add some other stuff in new version(0.09x). Hope I will release that soon.

BTW: I may have a lot of footprints if somebody need it, which one do you want?
if you can't generate in FPM, I can do it for you.

Hi Richard,
I really appreciate your FPM, thanx for that fine piece of good work.
Anyhow I want express some wishes:
- Could you insert some more possibilities to change the result of the final part? In most cases I have to create parts witch fullfill the IPC735* / IEC61188* (these "pin1 always on upper left" things and so on, you surely know). It would be great if I get my parts out of the FPM created normative to IPC.
- ... that I can choose or define the subclasses for the parts of ... the ... part? U know what I mean 
- What do you think about generating and manipulating devicefiles?
- Generic buried parts, resistors on inner layers e.g. Got a couple of jobs with that and creating a part for every layer for every value of resistance is driving me nuts!
Well, that should be enough for now.
I would be thrilled about some feedback

Hi all,
How can I use this FPM with version 15.5 Allegro which embedded in Orcad version 10.5? When I want to generate pad files by FPM, it always told me the wrong license of Allegro but I do use Allegro for my layout files.
Please help! Thanks!

is it possible to make possible to do batch generate for a group of components?
i would like to work at another company, where I would design schematics only and assign footprints from a library. but I would not have an allegro license, only a concept-hdl license. so i couldnt generate any footprints one-by-one during design. just use already generated ones.

glad to see your wishes, some of them are very interesting, I am working on it, recently not only some features on footprint/allegro, but also on UI(user interface), because the develop platform moving from vc6 to vc2008, it's take some time to let it done. (another reason for the delay is that I am taking my winter-vacation in China and Tailand in the very soon )

as I said before, the "batch generate" function was obsolete due to the reason I posted before. you may use "small" batch generate when in sets' grid to select ALL (ctrl-A) then click "generate" button.
plus:
I didn't test on Allegro version 16.0. from some feedbacks I believe the present version (FPM0.08 ) is not suitable for Allegro v16.0. I will try that in new version when I back home from China.

Hi Richard,
hope you had a good vacation-time.
Are there any problems with the QFN's?
- Loading skillExt.cxt
- E- SHAPE boundary may not cross itself.
- E- Illegal element in SHAPE_SYMBOL
- E- CANNOT OPEN DRAWING OR SYMBOL
and at the end no ETCH.
