Anybody know the typical Peak to Average Ratio of IEEE802.11b?
And, what's the value of PAPR of DVBT?
thanks,

| What do you mean by the PAPR of IEEE802.11b? The PAPR is different from each OFDM signal blocks. Or do you mean the backoff value used in practical for the power amplifier?

I mean the PAPR before PA.
And, in my case I care the practical backoff of receiver.

| We normally used IBO as 5-7 dB. But, I am not very sure about this standard.

thanks for the share of your experience. Would you tell me the 5-7dB is for
what kind of standard? 802.11a, 11g? or WiMax?
Thanks,

Backoff applies to different stages in a OFDM communication system. For BB it is typical related to the maximum DAC output.
The optimium backoff there is the sum of EVM noise power of the quantisation noise and the clipping noise give a minimum. For 10bit, 52 carrier and non-boosting pilots it is about 13dB.
7-8dB applies more to the PA and it depend on the actual modulation.

| Is there any information about practical backoff values for power amplifier? I mean any technical paper or website? Thanks.
