What is the diadvantage if we only extract phase information
from a 8PSK signal to demodulate it?

Anyone has papers?

The attached pdf shows a compartive study of various modulation scheme. From the graphs you can infer the the davnatages as well as disadvantages of 8PSK in comparison to other available schemes.
