Hello. i'm an engineering student and we got 'probability and random variables' course. I need an extra book instead of the course book. Any advise?

Stark and woods is a good book that treats probability from signal processing point of view.Other books like peebles,popoulis(still the Standard book) are also good.
But if you would like a book with lot of worked examples,then try Probability and Random Processes by VeeraRajan.I don't think this would be available in turkey.
But try to get it.It is a good book

| Papoulis book`s is one of the best, also the solution are uploaded here , but a nice book is the one written by Leon-Garcia.

| Papoulis is the best book. its reading was cumbersome for me. but it gave me the best and permanent intuition.

if u are an undergraduate..then the book by peebles is good
if you want some more, then the book by papoulis and vaidayanathan is better.
try to read the books on signal analysis too

| try to get kolmogorov's lectured papers,who is the father of probability,even papoulis is the bestbut slightly complex,for easy approach use stark and woods .

I u ask me the best book 4 conceptual study is Probability And random variables by MILLER and FREUND................ Its a treat 4 those who dnt even knw tha ABC ov the topic..........

| Papoulis is probably the best but I suggest you to give a look to MacKay book on bayesian probability, it can help to 'really' understand the subject and it's possible to download it from his site.

| I suggest the Schaum's Outline for Probability, Random Variables And Random Processes. It's very good to have as a companion because it's not so rich in text and is filled with examples.
