I thinks there another many advantages about wavelet.
You can refer to some book on wavelet.

| becoz of multiresolution propery.here time and frequency both scale r descritised.depending upon the application we can choose our wavelet to fulfill our criteria.funcionSTFT and FT fails in having this property.

| Simply put, the wavelet transform gives you frequency and time information as opposed to only refquency information given by the FT.
