Please give me any suggestion to design one stage Telescopic Amplifier with following sepecifications:
DC Open loop gain > 100 dB
Unity gain bandwidth >10 MHz
Phase margin > 70 degree at unity gain
Vout swing > 1V p-p
Minumum Von = 150 mV
Any architecture for this specifications would be appriciated.
Thanks in advance,
Su

| U can find its information in Paul Gray and also in Ken Martin. As your Swing is 1V.U can happily use telescopic cascode. Take 5 transistors,it will be helpful for your gain also.

| only your gain criteria is critical one.rest of the specs can be achieved quite easily.so you have to choose the arcitecture which will provide additional gain.with this regard, you might use gain boosted telescopic amplifier.you can get little theory on this in razavi's book.moreover search on google, you will get enough materials/thesis on gain boosted telescopic amplifier.if you fing difficult to design telescopic amplifier(its difficult to set the dc operating conditions of telescaopic amplifier),you can switch to gain boosted tfolded cascode amplifier.it is easier to design than telescopic one.

| Refer to CMOS circuit desgin by Allen and Hollberg Chapter 6. It has detailed design steps for a amplifier design.

that high gain can be acheived by using the single gain boosting stage.,
it can be telescopic or folded cascode.,
telescopiec will give less noise, and swing is also no consraint ,so u can easily achieve it through telescopic stage.

| it apears that you are using 3V supply,Use Gain bosted telescopic casocde. For reference search in berkeley under EE240 projects. there are circuits based on such specification.

Since the technology shinks, I would recommend 2 stage amplifier (ex...1-stage OTA: telescopic + SC for 2nd stage).
What other guys think?
Added after 1 minutes:
Gain boostin is good...but read the appropriate paper before you design one.
Unless you don't know what you are doing, you might have a pole-zero doublet, which slows your circuit down significantly.

There's an A-Z example that designes a telescopic cascode op-amp, in Razavi's book, Refer to it,
then try to build and simulate,
Tune parameters,
And, try most closer results to required,
Regards,
Ahmad,
