Im planning to have my research and thesis regarding BLUETOOTH TECHNOLOGY and a MOBILE PHONE.My preparatory concept will be these:
1. locate a person by using a cellphone preferably with GSM technology and using a bluetooth.In my concept, I will be planning to put different spots on bluetooth device and have it placed every after 10 mtrs or more depending on the bluetooth.
2. a PC or a device that can be the controller receive text in every bluetooth devices.
3. When a person is trying to locate a person using SMS (the person that should be located must be registered to a database) the server of the bluetooth would try to locate the specific owner of the cellphone then compute the distance using triangularization and be computed on the main server of the SMS and then send a response to the one who locates.
The other concept of mine is using the cellsites instead of a bluetooth device.
I know there are person who knew this kind of concept, i will appreciate it if you could help me!waiting for ur positive response!ü

I have little of knowledge considering positioning by bluetooth. However positioning by GSM network has been standartised. You should lookup 3GPP specs.
There are roughly 3 methods defined in spec, one of them by applicaiton of build-in GPS receiver. Another one called E-OTD (enhanced - observed time difference) employs triangulation like you have suggested. Some phones like nokia 6230 already support this method.
