Do you really check Asim Khan design ?
http://chaokhun.kmitl.ac.th/~kswichit/IspPgm30a/ISP-Pgm30a.html
And looks harder to build ?
Then go to http://chaokhun.kmitl.ac.th/~kswichit/cheapcable/index.html
though Wichit Sirichote clearly stated '"However as the circuit designer, I would suggest to add the buffer chip between LPT port and target MCU"

| I believe the same topic has been discussed in another thread. Just to repeat, i always recommend using AEC_ISP.exe (try google with keyword AEC ISP). The schematics are shown in that software.

At begining I made AEC programmer becouse is very simple (DB25 and 2 resistors). I wasn't expect anything (it was to simple, I guess).
BUT, its work perfect, do not think of any another programmer. Just make it, and enjoy..

| But in my opinion a better idea would be to make a programmer that can program variety of chips.....not just a single one tking into consideration the future.

AEC can program AT89S51, S52, S8252 so is't just one chip (and isn't complicated to build => DB25 and 2 resistors).
