Electronics is future , every technology enabled country would need to excel in electronics.

Hence it is just a myth that Mauritius is very high on electronics.

this is most probably because some of the big companies have decided to open up there manufacuring units there.

however this can't be taken as an absolute sizzler.

As far as oppurtunities are concerned ,yes good oppurtunities are available as the man power required might not be able to fullfill the sudden demand of companies.
However this is going to be for very short period.

Thank you for your answer.

Are you from Mauritius, and are you in any way involved with electronics?

I understand that some big companies opened up manufacturing sites in this country, but this is because of the low cost of manpower or because of anything else (for example, particular skills in some areas or topics, or tax related issues, ....)???

And what about logistics? To manufacture in Mauritius, they need to send there the components and ship the final product/assembly to the market, and I think this can be quite expensive. I do not think they actually can compete with other countries, like China, where manpower is cheap and components are quite easy to buy.

I'd like to understand more.....
