Hi!

I've asked for some samples from Maxim, a DS89C420 and a DS89C440. I've tried a circuit to program the uC, but i've had some problems, I stablish the conection between the PC and the circuit, but I couldn't see any program running in it, although the code had been succefully loaded.

So, I would like to know if someone could get me a circuit wich I could Serial Program a DS89C4X0, please??

If the code had been succesfully loaded therefore all you have to do is to wire the 8051 into stand alone mode.

Sorry, What do you mean about stand alone mode?

After I program the uC I put in Run Mode, is it enough or do I have to make any further stuff?

Added after 5 minutes:

The circuit I used is in this link, I think it maybe be useful for other people.
The page is in portuguese, but you can see the circuit's. I think it is correct because the person who did those projects tells that they're working.

Can someone take a look at them, and tell me something...
If it works, maybe very very useful, and may worth the translation to the english language...

Re-check the datasheet of DS89C420 on how to put it on run mode. Read also the pin descriptions.

Check the link given by FoxyRick, it has the PCB layout of the interface board I made for the DS89C420.
