Can anyone kindly clarify this for me?
Hi, all,

I am running a DC analysis on an opamp in Cadence. The simulator gives me four DC parameters: Vgs, Vds, Vth, Vd.sat.

From my understanding, Vd.sat = Vgs - Vth, and if I make sure Vgs>Vth and Vds>Vd.sat, then I can say the transistor is in saturation region. But from the simulation results, Vd.sat is not equa to Vgs - Vth. My actual Vds is greater than the actual Vgs - Vth but less than the actual Vd.sat...Can I still conclude the transistor is in saturation?

NMOS TRANSISTOR

Vgs - Vt < Vds - saturated region

Vgs - Vt > Vds - linear region

Vgs - Vt = vds - triode region
