| System on chip contains both software and hardware. Java surely can handle the software codes. Some researchers are trying to use Java as hardware description language, e.g. JHDL. So will Java evolves to be an alternative of system description language for SoCs, other than SystemC, SpecC from C and SystemVerilog from Verilog? Do you have any ideas or advices on this?

well, some question arises: are these researchers nuts?
Java for HDL? Kind of scary to think. In HDL synthetization/process speed is very valuable and the way Java is organized/operates lacks speed and is slow. Even Visual Basic in PC is faster then Java.
Considering Java practices have forced a lot of companies in PC area to withdrew from their current Java projects.
