A square matrix U is a unitary matrix if

3$U^H=U^{-1}

where 3$U^H denotes the conjugate transpose and 3$U^{-1} is the matrix inverse.

For example
3$\begin{pmatrix}2^{-1/2}&2^{-1/2}&0 \\-2^{-1/2}i& 2^{-1/2}i&0\\0&0&i\\\end{pmatrix}

if a matrix's conjugate transpose is equal to its inverse, then the matrix is unitary matrix.
