Hi all,
previously I have always been able to load Traxmaker file (*.pcb) into Protel ( Protel DXP) and then select which component I wanted put it into a library, or I could just the better routing features of Protel. When I tried the same thing with DXP 2004 it loads it up no problem, but now I can't select any of the components, which is to sngle click to make them highlighted. Doubling clicking brings up the property on that particular component properites. I really don't much about DXP 2004, I am obiviously not setting something which would allow the component to be selected.
Any help would be most welcomed.
Thanks in advance.

When you double click on the component and open the properties, look at the checkboxes on the left side of the screen. If "Locked" is checked, you will not be able to select the component with a single click.
Be sure to leave "Lock Primitives" checked to prevent accidentally modifying the footprint. Uncheck "Locked" to allow selection, moving, updating, etc.
